Photography Workshop Structure: Learning in Nature
Why this workshop exists & how it works
Have you ever held your camera and felt unsure where to start? Or taken photos that you love in your head but not in the frame? Even if you’re a complete beginner, if you want to learn camera basics, ignite creativity, and connect with likeminded women in a supportive, natural environment, this is for you.
There is published evidence that shows us how tuning into our surroundings, being in nature and being present in the moment can reduce stress, and improve mental, emotional and physical health. We also know that about a third of parents experience loneliness and by connecting with others we can start to make a difference in how we feel. This workshop is about learning to use your camera, which gives us structure to our sessions, but I truly hope that what you gain from it is so much more than that.
💡 Camera fundamentals made simple
📸 Creative challenges to grow your eye
🤝 Connection with a small group of women
🌿 Practise in beautiful outdoor locations
Workshop sessions are once a week, run during the school term. 1 hour of guided learning & practice outdoors, in nature and and then on a walk as we learn, followed by 30 minutes of casual chat and connection time.
Each week you will be given an optional creative challenge to keep the flow going in between our sessions.
Who is this photography workshop for?

This Is Perfect If You…
- Want photography to feel fun
- Have a camera but don’t know how to use it
- Want to grow your creativity
- Love trying something new
In just two weeks, Claudia went from not knowing how to operate her camera in manual mode, to independently adjusting her exposure and nailing it!
Rachel is down to earth, approachable and clearly passionate about sharing her creativity and
Clementina Velasco
expertise. She balances theory and practice really well, and got us working with our cameras really
early on in the workshop, which was excellent! There was also a good balance of letting
participants experiment with the skills we’d just learnt as well as mentoring under Rachel’s watchful
eye. I walked away feeling like I had lots I could experiment with and practice at home.
Highly recommended!
