Beautiful family photography in Wollongong

No matter the size, shape, stage or style of your family, a family photoshoot is a wonderful way to capture today’s moments, to treasure tomorrow.

Every family is unique, and my family photoshoot style is all about celebrating your family’s interactions and having a lot of fun at the same time.

Outdoor Shoalhaven Family Photographer

Rachel made us feel so comfortable during our family photoshoot and understood exactly what we wanted to capture in our photos. She was great at making sure our 7 month old was as happy as possible to ensure we got the perfect photos. We are so happy with the end result and wouldn’t hesitate to use Rachel again or recommend her to our family and friends. Thank you for such beautiful photos of our family.

Your choice of setting

My family photoshoots can happen in a beautiful outdoor setting or in the relaxed surrounds of your own family home. I’ll personalise the style to suit your family’s characteristics, and will create a series of candid and posed portraits, which tells the stories of your own special family.

Whether you have a beloved family pet you’d like to include, or are looking for a multi-generational shoot, I’m always happy to create something bespoke for your needs.

The final piece in the photoshoot puzzle will be the delivery of beautifully presented prints, ready for you to hang in your home and cherish.

Fun fact: did you know having prominently placed family portraits on your walls can boost your child’s self-esteem? Read more here.

Let’s capture the chaos, care and characters of your family in a beautifully styled family photoshoot.

A big thank you to Rachel for your patience and professionalism in our recent family photoshoot. I’m sure capturing kids is difficult at the best of times let alone having tired and cranky toddlers to deal with. You somehow managed to get beautiful photos that we are so happy with. Thank you so much. We will definitely use you again for future events and will recommend you to other friends and family.

‘Rachel is a wizard!’ – my husband.

We had an amazing experience with Rachel for our extended family photoshoot which included 4 young kiddies (varying in age from 1 to 8 years). We were all so impressed by Rachel’s professionalism and attention to detail, but also her ability to engage with the ever-so-wriggly kids to capture lovely family photos that we will cherish forever. I would highly recommend Scribbly Gum Photography!

Not sure how to choose a family photographer? There’s a few things to consider and I’ve put them all neatly together to make things really easy for you. Read the article here.

Real questions that I’ve been asked by mums just like you.

Who can be included in a family photoshoot?

Include those that are important! Family photoshoots can be immediate family, extended family, furbabies and more. Sometimes the focus is with the kids and parents, other times the grandparents with grandchildren are the focus. What’s going to be your priority?

What if my kids don’t sit still?

With 3 busy boys of my own, I am very familiar with this! I take it in stride and I’m very used to managing busy kids. We keep the photoshoot fun and lighthearted, and we will create some beautiful photos while we are there.

My child has Autism (and/or other things) and it’s going to be hard. I’m not sure if a photoshoot is worthwhile?

Can we think about this one a different way? This is an opportunity to create memories of your family – just the way you are. Let’s chat about how I can help to make sure the photoshoot can be as comfortable and confident as possible.

We would like to include an elderly person with limited mobility. Where would you suggest we go?

I have scoured high and low, beach to bush to learn about the very best photoshoot locations. With my previous experience working in a hospital with those with very limited mobility I understand how to accommodate limited mobility. Let’s chat!

I don’t even know what everyone should wear.

Good news: I do. I’ve put together a super handy Ebook that will run through where to start, how to coordinate (but not match) and examples with different locations. The best part is once you’re booked, you get to read it for free. See about it here.
